Green Teens Grow Application

We’ve loved having you this summer! Please carefully read the following information before applying for the Green Teens Grow School Year Program:
Highland Youth Garden intends to hire 6 individuals from the Green Teens Corps Summer Program to continue employment into the school year as Green Teens Grow garden assistants and education assistants. It is possible to be hired into both positions simultaneously. Pay will be the same, or potentially a bit more, than what you are paid now (you will be informed of pay status upon acceptance).
There are 2 types of positions available:
Green Teen Gardening Assistant: (5 hours a week), duties include:
Assist Lead Gardener with maintaining and planning garden. These tasks could include research, watering, seeding, planting, etc.
Help with any volunteers in the garden
Assist with Farmer’s Market operations
Green Teen Education Assistant (10 hours a week), duties include:
Attend & help lead after-school club, which usually serves between 15-25 elementary students, once a week for 3 hours (day of week to be determined)
Attend Saturday morning volunteer days, 9am-12pm, to lead educational activities for elementary students and assist with volunteer operations.
Attend one planning session each week with Highland Youth Garden’s lead educator and other staff/board members to plan & prepare for Garden Club & Saturday activities (day of week to be determined)
Important Dates to Remember:
The deadline to apply to the Green Teens Grow School Year program is August 10.
Interviews for all positions will happen August 12-14
You will be informed of your acceptance status on or by August 15th.
